In 2006, Faith Methodist Church launched a church-wide project to launch our members into mission work. Termed Missions 2006 (M06), the project saw 1,023 Faith members going on short-term mission trips to the region beyond Singapore. M06 was a significant milestone in the outreach footprint of the Church and an important introduction to World Missions.
The goal of Acts 1:8 is to engage Faith members in taking the next step after M06, specifically by starting pilot projects in target areas located within four hours by flight from Singapore. An Acts 1:8 Pilot Project involves looking for a Man or Woman of Peace – a local leader who resonates with our long-term goal to plant a 3-Self Church (Self-governing, Self-supporting and Self-propagating), and who is willing to be accountable to Faith Methodist Church. The target area should be an area where no other church or agency has adopted.
The Acts 1:8 team is currently focused on six country groups – Cambodia, Indonesia , Myanmar, Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam.
